Dr. Alexander Aponte-Davila, ND, MHSN, FAIHM is a bilingual naturopathic doctor—fluent in both English and Spanish—who is deeply committed to helping patients uncover the root cause of their symptoms and move beyond quick fixes. Dr. Aponte-Davila’s journey into medicine began in Puerto Rico, where he grew up witnessing his mother silently suffer from severe, debilitating endometriosis. Despite her constant pain, no one could offer real answers—or explain how daily exposures like personal care products, tap water, and processed foods might be contributing to her condition. That early sense of helplessness sparked a lifelong drive to understand the “why” behind chronic illness and shaped his mission as a physician.
He began his academic journey with a master’s in health sciences in Nutrition at the University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences Campus, where he developed a deep fascination with the connection between nutrition, cancer, and chronic disease. During this time, he had the privilege of being mentored by renowned researcher Dr. Michael J. Gonzalez, PhD—a pioneer in metabolic and nutritional therapies for cancer. Their collaboration opened his eyes to the profound role of biochemistry, orthomolecular medicine, and environmental toxins in chronic illness. This mentorship profoundly influenced his clinical philosophy and inspired a steadfast commitment to integrative oncology.
In 2017, Dr. Aponte-Davila relocated to the West Coast of the U.S. to continue his training at some of the most respected institutions in natural and integrative medicine. He earned his Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University in Washington, followed by a two-year residency in general naturopathic medicine at Bastyr University California. He went on to complete a two-year Integrative Medicine Fellowship through the Academy of Integrative Health & Medicine (AIHM) in La Jolla, California—an interdisciplinary program uniting thought leaders from around the world to shape the future of personalized medicine.
A former competitive basketball player, Dr. Aponte-Davila brings an athlete’s mindset to healing—valuing performance, recovery, and physical resilience. A career-ending knee injury shifted his focus from court to clinic, where he began exploring regenerative medicine not only to heal himself but to support others in restoring function and vitality. His clinical expertise now includes regenerative approaches for joint and soft tissue healing, IV nutrient therapy, high-dose vitamin C, peptide medicine, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, and terrain-based cancer support protocols.
Dr. Aponte-Davila specializes in integrative oncology, hormonal health, metabolic and endocrine disorders, gastrointestinal dysfunction, chronic infections, and musculoskeletal pain. Outside of clinical practice, he finds balance through mindfulness, sauna therapy, strength training, and time in nature. He enjoys exploring new hiking trails, discovering healthy food spots, and staying active—still shooting hoops and prioritizing mobility and recovery.
