Oncoblot Test
Oncoblot Test for Cancer Diagnostics
Another great blood test that is useful for detecting cancer in the early stages is the ONCOblot®. This is a new test that has only been available since January 2013 and which is able to detect over 26 known forms of cancer, 7 to 8 years before a tumor shows up on conventional scans. It can also show you in what organ(s) the cancer is developing.
The ONCOblot® checks your body for a special kind of protein called ENOX2 that exists only on the surface of cancer cells. These proteins are shed into the circulation and can be detected in the blood, and serve as highly sensitive markers for the early detection of both primary and recurrent cancers.
The ONCOblot® can detect a cancer mass that contains only two million cells. Compare this to a positive mammogram, which can only find cancer once the mass has reached 4.5 trillion cells.
Cancer Testing with Confidence
The ENOX2 protein species is unique to malignant cells but not to non-cancerous ones. These proteins may be identified during early development. The ONCOblot® Test recognizes the ENOX2 markers, as well as the direct detection of a marker presence, which minimizes false positives.
Reveals origin of malignant cells:
The test result for the ENOX2 protein is revealed in the ONCOblot® Test. The ONCOblot® database contains.
The following 25+ cancers:
• Bladder
• Breast
• Cervical
• Colorectal
• Endometrial
• Esophageal
• Gastric
• Hepatocellular
• Kidney
• Non-Small cell
• Lung Small cell

• Prostate
• Sarcoma
• Squamous Cell
• Follicular Thyroid

What is this blood test based on?
The ONCOblot® blood test detects ENOX2, a unique protein found only on the surface of a malignant cancer cell, in patients undergoing chemotherapy for advanced disease. ENOX2 proteins are released into the circulation and may be discovered in the blood. These molecules serve as highly sensitive indicators of early detection in both primary and recurrent tumors.
How sensitive is this blood test?
The OncoBlotTM Test can identify a tumor with 2 million cells in comparison to 4.5 trillion cells for a positive mammogram, according to the manufacturer.
